About

Tim Land is Landslide… the producer, composer, musician and DJ, based in London, United Kingdom. Tim started his producing career in 1998, when he signed to Hospital Records, and produced music under the Landmass alias, and also contributed production skills to the 1st London Elektricity album Pull The Plug in 1999.

2000 saw the release of his debut album as Landslide called Drum & Bossa, that excited followers worldwide, that was rereleased by OM Records in 2001.

Further key singles such as Hear My People 2001, and It’s Not Over 2002, established Landslide as a genre blending dancefloor producer, drawing musical genre tags such as 2-step, garage, broken beat, nu jazz and future jazz to his sound.

Landslide has produced various remixes for artists such as Nitin Sawney, Bugz in the Attic, Soulstice, High Contrast and London Elektricity.

Around 2002, played on the legendary Groovetech.com Radio. He work is truly unique and fresh sounding, highly captivating and sends shivers through your body and all the way through your soul and beyond. Made music in the golden 1999–2003 era.

2006 saw the release of Conundrum featuring Don Freeman on Sick Trumpet Records, that also featured on Southport Weekender Volume 5 on Endulge Records in 2006, mixed by Kenny Dope.

Landslide was born out of Tim’s association with Hospital Records, initially doing programming and engineering work for them in 1996, and worked on music with Tony Colman. In late 1998, signed to them and took the alias name of Landmass. That was then changed to Landslide, because there was another artist by the name of Danmass, working in a similar vein (pre-Google days when this stuff took time to work out!). Early duties on the label involved working under the London Elektricity banner, producing several tracks for their 1st album, and a whole bunch of remixes.

Received a BAFTA for his interactive sound work, and has toured internationally with award winning bands and as a DJ. He uses these experiences to teach composition, production, music business and political economy. More recently I have been focusing on spatialised sound and the potential it can bring for new music.
