About

Eloi Brunelle has been a musician for over 10 years. Initially a hip-hop producer, but since 1998 has dedicated himself to developing a unique blend of techno and house, that has been described as having ‘cool contours and a warm interior’ by the French music magazine TRAX. Fascinated with the possibilities found in spontaneous composition, he has made it his specialty.

Since 1998, he has been performing regularly in Montreal, with notable performances for the FCMM (Montreal New Music and New Media Festival), Mutek, and the 2001 Montreal Independent Music Initiative awards gala, where he was nominated for electronic artist of the year. He is also a regular at the famous Epsilonlab events. In 2001, he released his 1st vinyl EP titled Untitled (Meemee), on Center Rec. And in June of 2001 he followed up with his 1st full-length album Elsonic Project put out by Epsilonlab. His compositions have also found their way on several compilations, notably Force Inc. Music Works Montreal Smoked Meat.

In the summer of 2002, he participated in the MEG Festival’s European tour, where he got the opportunity to present his work in several venues, most notably the Batofar in Paris, as well as the Cargo in Neuchâtel, which was part of the Swiss Expo.02. During this tour that he recorded his latest album Live @ Neuchâtel in 2002. Following the MEG Festival’s European tour, he took part in Someone Else’s summer program, where he got the opportunity to perform all over Europe, including London’s legendary Fabric nightclub.

Parallel to his music career, is his role as musical director of the Epsilonlab collective, and he is also the founder and manager of the Epsilonlab record label.

Because of several important tours in the last 4 years, his international profile has grown tremendously, playing in France, England, Germany, Switzerland, Portugal, Chile and Mexico.

Eloi Brunelle has rapidly entered the big leagues and he plans on staying there. His minimal funky house sound is spreading like a virus around the world, infecting electronic music lovers everywhere.
